LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) — Authorities in Jessamine County say a man drowned in a creek when the horse he was riding fell in it.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reported searchers found the body of Danny Reynolds on Sunday morning, about a half-mile from where his horse slipped and fell. Jessamine County Coroner Michael Hughes said the accident occurred along a small stream, which WKYT-TV in Lexington identified as Hickman Creek.
Hughes said the 56-year-old Reynolds was riding with companions when he guided the horse into the stream at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The stream was turbulent because of recent rain and, when the horse fell, Reynolds was swept downstream.
The horse sustained cuts and scrapes, but survived.
