KY man gets 20 years in prison for fatal crash

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (AP) — A Georgetown man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the 2010 crash deaths of a Lexington couple.

Scott Circuit Judge Paul Issacs on Monday ordered 48-year-old Jeff Bailey to prison for 10 years for the death of 32-year-old Brian Way and another 10-year sentence for the death of Way's girlfriend, 29-year-old Anna Hamilton.

Bailey pleaded guilty in March to two counts of second-degree manslaughter. He survived a head-on crash on June 30, 2010.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reported (http://bit.ly/13UDzxC ) that investigators concluded Bailey drove under the influence of drugs when his Ford pickup struck a Toyota pickup driven by Way. The wreck occurred on U.S. 25 in Scott County.

Police say Bailey had driven about 10 miles in the wrong lane before the crash.
