BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A volunteer firefighter driving in Knox County was shocked to see a young girl riding a tricycle alone on a busy road.
Garrett Black stopped, as did his cousin's wife, and got the 3-year-old out of the road. When she couldn't tell them her name, they called for a deputy to meet them.
Knox County Sheriff's Deputy Adam Townsley told WYMT-TV (http://bit.ly/12lxT2W ) that about 45 minutes later, a neighbor recognized the girl. Townsley found 31-year-old Sherry Millsaps under the influence and said she didn't know her daughter had wandered a half-mile down the road.
Millsaps and the girl's father, 47-year-old David Miller, were booked into jail on endangerment charges. They declined the TV station's request for a jailhouse interview.
