WINCHESTER, Ky. (AP) — A woman who took her husband to the hospital in Winchester says she was ejected because of her service dog.
Catherine Hall told WLEX-TV in Lexington (http://bit.ly/17EkRPd ) a hospital employee stopped her on Sunday and said no dogs were allowed. Hall said she explained her dog Kai was a service animal.
Hall said she tried to explain her rights under the Americans with Disabilities Act, but the employee called a security officer and had her escorted out. After putting Kai in her car and walking back in, Hall said a nurse told her the dog could be brought inside.
A later statement from the Clark County Regional Medical Center did not directly address the incident, but stated the hospital meets ADA requirements for service animals.
