Summer classes at Elizabethtown Community and Technical College are well underway. Now is the perfect time for prospective students to submit applications and enroll in classes for Fall Semester. The earlier students register for classes, the better their chances of getting the classes they need, on the days and times they want.
ECTC teaches classes at its Elizabethtown Campus, Springfield Campus, Fort Knox and, now, at a new Leitchfield Campus, in addition to a large selection of online classes and programs.
Prospective students are advised to begin the application and registration process immediately. Students who have already applied can sign up online for an orientation session where they can register for classes. Or they can call the college and schedule a meeting with a counselor to register for classes. There is no need to wait until the general registration dates in August, when the entire process can be completed this summer.
Students who intend to enroll in Fall classes this summer will benefit from participation in the college’s new BUILD Orientation, which prepares students to succeed in college classes. The orientations also give students who are registration-ready the opportunity to enroll in classes and complete their schedules for Fall Semester. To be registration-ready, students must submit an application, transcripts, and test scores. A COMPASS test may also be required for course placement.
To be best prepared for Fall Semester and to help avoid being dropped from classes, students should apply for financial aid as soon as possible. Anyone planning to enroll in the Fall will complete the 2013-2014 FAFSA, at www.fafsa.gov. The ECTC school code is 001991. Financial aid is still available for fall semester, but the application must be completed soon for funds to be available before registration.
Also, students should be aware of a change in payment policies. All tuition must be paid, or payment plans in place, by August 16. Students with unpaid balances will be dropped from their classes. For questions about tuition payment, contact the Business Office at 270-706-8806.
