(Clarkson, KY) - As we head into the July 4th weekend, preparation is taking place for the closure of KY 88 at Bear Creek Bridge in Grayson County beginning Monday, July 8th.
At this project’s pre-construction meeting, contractors and KYTC District 4 officials situated the work schedule in order to minimize impacts to Independence Day traffic in the Nolin recreational area and to have the project completed to the point traffic could resume across the bridge by the beginning of the upcoming school year.
Project details include the closure of the KY 88 at the bridge over Bear Creek (mp 2). This is a bridge replacement project and the preliminary utility and embankment work is currently underway.
The closure, which starts Monday, July 8th, will last for 21 days.
The detour will be signed via US 62, KY 3155, KY 259 and KY 226. However, KY 1214 (Grayson Springs Road) north and south from the KY 88 intersection will remain open through the project.
The road is expected to reopen by July 29th, but the entire project is expected to be completed by September 1, 2013.
