Sixth Sense Prepares Sixth Graders for Trasition

LEITCHFIELD, Ky. – All incoming 6th grade students are invited to attend “Sixth Sense” at Grayson County Middle School, July 16 – 18.  Students can attend any or all session days to meet their new teachers and teams. They’ll also get to renew old friendships and make new ones with classmates from across the district.

The primary goal of Sixth Sense is to ease student transition from elementary to middle school life. The program offers an opportunity to get comfortable with new schedules, locker assignments, login and lunch codes, and general school expectations.  Sixth Sense also allows teachers, staff and students to get to know one another before school starts.  A variety of fun activities are planned for the week including team building, special programs and performances, an introduction to the many clubs and organizations students can become involved in at GCMS and much more.

Sessions will run from 7:30 am – 3 pm each day, with a light breakfast and lunch provided. Shuttle service will also be available from East and West Grayson locations.

Registration for Sixth Sense is requested, with forms and additional information available at graysoncountyschools.com.  Sixth Sense is a 21st Century Community Learning Grant program.
