(Leitchfield, Ky.) – Dedication ceremonies will be held Tuesday, July 16 for Elizabethtown Community and Technical College’s Leitchfield Campus.
ECTC President/CEO Dr. Thelma J. White and Kentucky Community and Technical College President Dr. Michael B. McCall will lead a delegation of state, local and college officials in the 11:30 a.m. (CDT) ceremony at the new facility, located at 101 E. Carroll Gibson Blvd., in Leitchfield.
The facility will be open to the public from 2 to 6 p.m.
“The new Leitchfield Campus provides the space necessary for us to expand our academic and technical programs for citizens in Leitchfield, Grayson County and the surrounding area,” White said. “We’ll also provide critical workforce development programs designed to help attract new companies to the region, as well as continuing education courses for area professionals and non-credit, personal enrichment classes for area residents.”
ECTC’s newest campus is the result of an innovative partnership between Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center, the Grayson County community and the college. Construction began in June 2012 and was completed this month on the 11,450-square-foot Walter T. Kelley Building.
The facility, designed by Affinity Design Group of Lexington, houses four general classrooms, a computer classroom, a science lab, faculty and administrative offices and a student lounge. Alliance Corporation of Glasgow is the general contractor.
College personnel are working to install voice and data infrastructure and instructional equipment at the facility, which will officially open Aug. 1. ECTC will offer 27 general education classes during the 2013 Fall Semester. Classes begin Aug. 19.
