Bridge being named for former UK coach Joe B. Hall

CYNTHIANA, Ky. (AP) — Former University of Kentucky coach Joe B. Hall will have a bridge named for him Friday.

The new bridge on U.S. 27 is in Hall's hometown of Cynthiana.

The Lexington Herald-Leader (http://bit.ly/170xvEa ) says a ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m. EDT Friday at the bridge.

Hall was inducted into the National Collegiate Basketball Hall of Fame last November in Kansas City, Mo. He coached the Wildcats for 13 seasons, finishing with a 373-156 record and winning the NCAA championship over Duke in 1978.

State Rep. Tom McKee of Cynthiana said in a resolution to adjourn the House on Tuesday in honor of Hall that the new bridge "will stand as a monument to the bridge Coach Hall so artfully created when he took over" from legendary coach Adolph Rupp.
