The Grayson County Alliance Furniture Program has moved and is once again accepting donations. Last year alone, they served 396 children and adults in Grayson County by providing 451 pieces of furniture. According to Program Director, Melissa Williams, the organization is in critical need of gently used twin, full or queen sized beds, chests of drawers, sofas and working appliances. Gently used couches, loveseats, dinette sets, and dressers are also accepted. Along with grant money from the United Way and the Kentucky Colonels to purchase beds, the community donated a generous 81 beds, 39 sofas and 20 appliances last year.
Anyone interested in donating items can contact the Alliance at 259-4000 for more information, as a pickup time will be arranged. The new location is off Highway 259, north of the bypass. Furniture may also be picked up from the Donor's home if needed.
