EVARTS, Ky. (AP) — An eastern Kentucky man has been charged with attempted murder after officials say he shot his brother in a dispute over lumber.
Harlan County Sheriff Marvin Lipfird told WLEX-TV in Lexington (http://bit.ly/1eh1IDs ) that Bill King of Evarts and his brother, Jerome King, were arguing over the lumber when the disagreement turned physical Friday evening.
Bill King told the sheriff Jerome King pulled a knife, prompting the shooting. Jerome King was shot in the groin and arm, but denies pulling a knife.
Jerome King was flown to Holston Valley, where he is in stable condition.
Lipfird arrested Bill King. He is housed in Harlan County Detention Center, charged with attempted murder.
