Deadline Change: Final Date to File Crop Reports for Small Grains
Grayson Co. KY, October 25, 2013 – Producers who participate in U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) programs through the Farm Service Agency should file a crop acreage report annually to retain program eligibility. The deadline to report Small Grains such as wheat, barley and oats, and avoid a late-reporting fee is December 15, 2013. The final date to report all other crops is July 15, 2014.
A complete crop acreage report is required for farms participating in Federal Farm Programs. Filing an accurate acreage report for all crops and land uses, including failed acreage and prevented planting acreage, can prevent the loss of benefits for a variety of programs. It is important to report your small grain acreage. It not only helps preserve your options for future program participation and potential new crop acreage base calculations; reporting also helps maintain a complete cropping history for your farm. Again the deadline to report Small Grains and avoid a late-reporting fee is December 15, 2013. The final date to report all other crops is July 15, 2014.
