BROWNSVILLE, Ky.- Pauline Childress Sanders, 85, of Mammoth Cave passed away at 4:50 PM Oct. 30, 2013 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky Center.
The Edmonson County native was a seamstress and homemaker. She was a daughter of the late Lawrence Lee Childress and Melinda Pierce Childress and the wife of the late Carl Sanders. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Georgie Childress, Wade Childress and Howard Childress; and two sisters, Valeria Jeffries and Rosie Harrison.
Funeral will be at 2:00 PM Sunday at Hill Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where she was a member, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Noon-9 PM Saturday and after 9 AM Sunday at Gravil Funeral Home.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry Sanders (Judy) and Terry Sanders (Dianne) both of Cub Run; a daughter, Sandra Pennycuff (James) of Bowling Green; five brothers, Leland Childress (Thelma Jean), Floyd Childress (Christine), Kenneth Chidress (Nina) and Elmo Childress (Vernice) all of Mammoth Cave and Owen Childress (Kathy) of Cave City; two sisters, Aliene James (Farrell) of Brownsville and Jill Schultz of Cave City. nine grandchildren, Kelly Meredith (Naren), Keith Page (Veronica), Darrell Sanders (Nina), Randall Sanders (Maya), Sandy Embry, Chris Sanders (Christina), Nicole Lindsey (Darren), Roseanne Johnson (Brent) and Rebecca Basham (Travis); and 19 great grandchildren.
