Police search for driver who dragged motorcycle

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville Police are searching for the driver of a Hummer that struck and killed a motorcyclist, then fled, dragging the motorcycle for four or five miles.

Police spokeswoman Alicia Smiley told The Courier-Journal (http://cjky.it/HIowku) the motorcyclist was thrown from his bike and pronounced dead at the scene. He was a male in his mid-30s and was wearing a helmet. Police did not release his identity.

Witnesses told police a dark-colored Hummer struck the motorcyclist at about 5 a.m. As the Hummer fled the scene, the motorcycle became lodged under the vehicle and was dragged for several miles before it came out.

Anyone with any information about the driver is asked to call the Louisville Metro Police Department's anonymous tip line at 502-574-5673.
