Clarkson City Commission appoints new member to replace Kay Gibson

The Clarkson City Commission met on Monday night to appoint a new commissioner to replace Kay Gibson, who stepped down earlier this month in order to concentrate on running her restaurant business.

Looking for someone who would "be an asset to the commission," current Clarkson City Commissioner Bob Vincent nominated retired Bank of Clarkson president Howard Williams to replace Gibson on the commission.

Williams, a Korean War veteran who served on the commission when Elwood Haynes was Mayor of Clarkson, was unanimously approved.

“I don’t have an agenda, I just want to do what’s best for Clarkson,” Williams said after being sworn in to the post.
