Richard David Warren, age 82, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Thursday, (February 6, 2014) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, KY.
He was born on February 5, 1932, in Springfield, IL, the son of the late Edward and Marie LeJeune Warren.
He retired from Cherry Burrel, a stainless steel industrial machine manufacturing company, as a quality control worker. He enjoyed woodworking and carpentry, being outside in his yard, and sitting on his front porch. He loved cars, and enjoyed playing card games, especially Hand and Foot. Richard was very close to his mother-in-law, Mary Richard Sims, now deceased. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Sims Warren of Leitchfield; three sons, Rick Warren of Des Moines IA, Steven Warren and wife, Lorene of Springfield IL, and Dennis Warren and wife, Maggie, of Navarre, FL; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Gloria, Marie, and Delores, and two brothers, Richard’s twin Bob, and Bill Warren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, (February 10, 2014) at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield. Rev. Randy Howard will be officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial at a later date in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the Dermitt Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 9:00 a.m. Monday until time of services.
A Prayer service will be held on Sunday night at 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield.
