Two men indicted for January assault with bat and machete



Two men accused of assaulting a man with a baseball bat and machete at a Leitchfield motel last month were indicted last week on charges related to the assault:

Walter A. Higgs, 23, of Brownsville, was indicted for Assault in the Second Degree, and for being a Persistent Felony offender, Second Degree.

Gavin Piercy, 18, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Assault in the Second Degree.

Both Higgs and Piercy are out of jail on $10,000.00 bonds.

In other indictments:
  • Kody King, 22, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration, First Degree as well as being a Persistent Felony Offender, Second Degree. King is out of jail on a $10,000.00 secured bond.
  • Tabitha Blaylock, 38, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Knowingly Exploiting an Adult Resulting in Loss of Resources, over $300.00 (four counts). Blaylock is out of jail on a $5,000.00 cash bond.
  • Zachary A. Lindsey, 34, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Receiving Stolen Property Valued under $10,000.00. Lindsey is currently housed in the Grayson County Detention Center on a $2,500.00 bond.  
  • Brian Melvin, 28, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Receiving Stolen Property valued under $10,000.00, and for being a Persistent Felony Offender, First Degree. Melvin is currently lodged in the Grayson County Detention Center on a $10,000.00 secured bond.
  • Michael C. Johnson, 23, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Theft by Unlawful Taking or Disposition of Property of $500.00 or more, but under $10,000.00. Johnson has been released from jail on a $10,000.00 unsecured bond.
  • Christy McMillen, 40, of Leitchfield, was indicted for Criminal Trespass, First Degree, and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. McMillen is out of jail on a $5,000.00 cash bond.
  • Joshua Geiser, 29, of Munfordville, was indicted for Theft by Unlawful Taking – Shoplifting under $500.00; Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place, First & Second Degree; Tampering with Physical Evidence; and being a Persistent Felony Offender, First Degree. Geiser is out of jail on a $5,000.00 cash bond.
