Edmonson County Deputy Sheriff Shane Doyle arrested a man for DUI on Tuesday night after encountering a swerving vehicle on routine patrol about 11:00.
“I noticed the truck coming toward me seemed to be somewhat in my lane,” Doyle said about the vehicle. “As he approached me, I had to slow down and get over on the shoulder of the road.”
After the near collision on Brownsville Road, Doyle stopped Park City man Keith W. Skaggs, 62.
“When I pulled him over, he told me he didn’t have a license and he smelled of alcohol,” Doyle stated. “After he failed my field sobriety tests, I arrested him.”
According to the citation, Skaggs’ breath alcohol content was .091, over the .08 legal limit in Kentucky. In addition to the DUI charge, Skaggs was charged with Failure to Yield ½ of the Roadway, Driving on a Suspended License, Second Offense, and having No Insurance.
