Drug ring busted, 28 arrested

On Thursday, the Kentucky State Police, Drug Enforcement and Special Investigations Unit, concluded a three year investigation into a large scale methamphetamine drug syndicate reaching Allen, Warren, Barren, Metcalfe, Cumberland, Powell, and Monroe Counties.

In the sweep, police seized nine guns, .5 grams of methamphetamine, an anhydrous ammonia tank (used in the production of meth), and a drug ledger.

Among the 28 people arrested and charged with Engaging in Organized Crime, include five people from Smiths Grove: Jimmy Dale Wood (age 39), Lesa Booker (53), Thomas A. Payne (51), Cynthia Stebbins (48), Jason Jones (43), and Richard Wilson (50); three from Glasgow: Michael Lowe (39), Anthony Vernon (43), and William Patrick Pullum (age unavailable); and two from Bowling Green: Steve Mayhew (39) and Vandy Moore (age unavailable).

Kentucky State Police Detectives from the Columbia and Bowling Green Posts, Commercial Vehicle Enforcement, along with KSP K-9, and KSP Special Response Team, led the roundup with assistance from several regional drug task forces and sheriff’s departments.
