On Sunday afternoon, the Grayson County Sheriff's Department responded to a man-with-a-gun call in the 9200 Block of Beaver Dam Road.
Upon arrival at the scene, Sheriff Rick Clemons and Deputies Buck Meredith and Adam Cottrell encountered James Johnson in his driveway brandishing a gun. Prior to officer's arrival at the scene, Johnson had discharged the weapon into the air on more than one occasion.
After a period of time, Clemons, Meredith and Cottrell were able to talk Johnson into giving up the weapon. Johnson was immediately taken into custody and charged with alcohol intoxication, with other charges possible.
