Single-car crash sends one to hospital

The Grayson County Sheriff’s Department and EMS personnel responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 4000 block of Anneta Road on Friday about noon.

A late-model GMC Denali, driving east, appeared to “fish tail” coming out of a curve two-tenths of a mile past Bear Creek Bridge. The vehicle briefly traveled into the westbound lane before leaving the road and hitting a telephone pole, snapping it in half (the Leitchfield Fire Department also responded to the scene, but left after discovering the pole struck was not an electrical pole).

The vehicle left a skid mark approximately 40 yards long in the road. Speed may have been a factor in the crash.

The male driver of the Denali was transported to the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies Buck Meredith and Tony Willen worked the accident scene.
