Caneyville Fire and Rescue along with the Grayson County Sheriff’s Department responded to an overturned semi-truck on the Western Kentucky Parkway about 12:15 on Monday morning.
The driver of the semi-truck, traveling East on the Parkway, lost control of the vehicle, entering the median and nearly emerging on the West bound side. The truck traveled around 150 feet in the median before flipping over on its side.
The accident occurred a quarter mile West of Exit 94. The highway was relegated to one lane traffic in both directions as police and fire officials worked the scene.
The driver of the truck was taken by ambulance to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center. An hour-and-a-half later, plans were made to have him air-lifted to an unknown hospital.
The cab of the truck sustained serious damage, necessitating the driver being extracted from the truck by Caneyville Fire and Rescue personnel.
