Firefighters to collect donations for Crusade for Children

The Leitchfield and Clarkson Fire Departments will collect donations for the 61st Annual WHAS Crusade for Children beginning Friday morning around 10:00. Leitchfield Firefighters will be stationed at the intersection of South Main and West White Oak, as well as the intersection of Highways 259 and 62, by Gate and Walgreens.
Clarkson Firefighters will be at the intersection of Highways 62 and 224.
There is no predetermined time that firefighters will stop collecting, but generally they take donations until 9:00 or 10:00 p.m. each night. Firefighters will collect for the Crusade for Children until Sunday evening.

As one gives, remember that 100 percent of each donation to the WHAS Crusade for Children helps children with special needs. Established in 1954, the Crusade has raised more than $154 million over the last 60 years.

Fire departments throughout all 120 Kentucky counties and more than 50 southern Indiana counties raise more than 50 percent of the money each year by staging road blocks and other events, according the WHAS Crusade for Children web site.
