Wanda Lee Dean, age 73 of Leitchfield passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at her residence. She was born September 23, 1940 in Spring Lick, KY, the daughter of Jeff Beckham Mattingly & Pearly Marie Basham Mattingly. She was an upholster, an animal lover, and fond of puzzles & games of chance.
She is survived by two daughters, Terri Wright of Caneyville & Pam Bellendir of Bowling Green, three sons, Garth Brown Dean, Jr. of Elizabethtown, Jeffery "J.B." Dean of Leitchfield, & Richard Anthony Dean of Mayfield, one sister, Wilma Hobson of Leitchfield, her long time companion and caregiver, Robert Newton, eight grandchildren, and twenty-three great grandchildren.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garth Brown Dean, Sr.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday (June 27, 2014) at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Chapel in Leitchfield with Bro. Jarrod Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in the Eveleigh Cemetery in Leitchfield. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until service time on Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of contributions to the Grayson County Human Society.
On Sunday morning at approximately 10:53, Deputy Bryan Hammons responded to West Elmwood Drive in Wax to investigate a golf cart crash, according to a Grayson County Sheriff’s Department press release. (MORE)
