Two-car wreck on Byway

The Leitchfield Police and Fire Departments responded to a two-vehicle accident at the intersection of Grayson Springs Road and the William Thomason Byway this morning around 10:30.
An older model Dodge Neon driving east on Grayson Springs failed to yield at the Byway intersection, and collided with a southbound late model Chevrolet Blazer. The collision propelled the Neon off the road, approximately 50 yards from the collision site.
Although the vehicles’ impact was violent, all involved refused medical treatment. An infant passenger in the Blazer was taken to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center by family members as a precautionary measure.
The Leitchfield Police Department would like to remind people that if one is involved in an accident with an infant, it is advisable to throw away the car seat and purchase a new one. Additionally, LFD credits the proper installation of the car seat involved in this accident with quite possibly preventing a tragic event.
