Motorcyclist killed in Hardin Co.

RADCLIFF –Kentucky State Police is investigating a two-vehicle accident that occurred on South Wilson Road in Hardin County on Thursday afternoon at approximately 3:30.

Richard C. Lawler, 37, of Eastview, was traveling southbound on South Wilson on a 1983 Kawasaki KZ750 motorcycle. Michael H. Friedrich, 27, of Renfrew, PA, along with a passenger, 28-year old Michelle L. Joseph of Fort Knox, were traveling northbound on South Wilson in a 1997 Ford Mustang.

For unknown reasons, the vehicle driven by Friedrich crossed the center line into the southbound lane striking Lawler.

Lawler was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin County Coroner’s Office. Friedrich was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital by ambulance with non life-threatening injuries. Joseph was airlifted by AirMethods to the University of Louisville Hospital.

A KSP accident re-constructionist was sent to the scene. The accident is still under investigation
