The Leitchfield Police and Fire Departments responded to a single-car accident on North Main Street on Friday about midnight.
A Saturn Ion, traveling south on Brandenburg Road, left the roadway where Brandenburg Road becomes North Main; at the “S” curve at 718 N. Main Street. The Saturn went straight instead of negotiating the curve and jumped the ditch, landing on the sidewalk at 718 N. Main, moving a utility pole approximately a foot-and-a-half.
The female driver of the Saturn was transported to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center as a precaution, then taken to the Grayson County Detention Center, charged with DUI. Two other Saturn passengers, one a juvenile female, were unhurt.
On Sunday morning at approximately 10:53, Deputy Bryan Hammons responded to West Elmwood Drive in Wax to investigate a golf cart crash, according to a Grayson County Sheriff’s Department press release. (MORE)
