Two killed in Breckinridge County accidents, driver charged with manslaughter

Kentucky State Troopers are investigating a two-vehicle fatal accident that occurred Saturday morning around 9:00 on US 60 in Breckenridge County, just west of Irvington.

William Brown, 21, of Irvington, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado westbound on US 60, when Brown crossed the center line and struck head-on a 2004 Ford Focus driven by 43-year old James L. Dupin, also of Irvington. Dupin was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brown was transported to Breckenridge Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, and after being released was charged with manslaughter in the second degree and operating a motor vehicle under the influence in the first degree. Brown was lodged in the Breckinridge County Jail.

According to Irvington Police, on Friday night about 5:30 --  and only a few miles from Saturday mornings fatal collision on US 60 -- an eastbound SUV left the road and overturned several times, throwing one of the vehicle's occupants from the SUV.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene with a second victim transported to the University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries.
