In a story K105 first reported on June 20, a porch a man was working on collapsed on top of him, trapping the man underneath the rubble. On Wednesday, Elbert Willis, 70, of Clarkson, succumbed to the injuries he sustained from the accident at the University of Louisville Hospital.
The accident happened on Grindstone Road, with the Clarkson Fire Department and EMS responding to the scene. Willis, suffering broken ribs and internal injuries, was air-lifted to the University of Louisville Hospital by Air Methods.
Willis, a retired construction worker, leaves behind his wife, Carolyn, along with two sons, Kenny and Ricky Willis, and one daughter, Letitia Thompson. Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 at Little Clifty Methodist Church.
