Football Cougars to scrimmage Warren East

The Grayson County High School football team prepares for its season-opening home game on August 22 against Hancock County, by taking on the Warren East Raiders in a scrimmage game at the high school on Thursday evening at 6:30.

The Cougars, coming off a 5-7 season in 2013, will look to continue to gain seasoning for its youth-filled roster. Last year, the Cougars' season ended with a second round setback in the Class 5A Russell Athletic/KHSAA Commonwealth Gridiron Bowl at the hands of Bullitt East.

Warren East, coached by Steve Long, is coming off a 7-5 campaign in which the Raiders lost to Owensboro, also in the second round of the Class 4A Gridiron Bowl. The Raiders' defense, led by UK committtment, senior linebacker Eli Brown, will pose a tremendous challenge for the youthful Cougars.
