Detention Center officials offer details on Elizabeth Woosley's capture

Late Monday night, K105 reported that Female Detention Center escapee Elizabeth Ann Woosley was captured in the Short Creek area. In a press release, Grayson County Detention Center officials offer details into how law enforcement caught Woosley:

A multi-agency manhunt resulted in the capture of two fugitives in the Falls of Rough area on Monday tonight.

Deputies from the Grayson County Detention Center, Grayson County Sheriff’s Office, officers from the Leitchfield Police Department and troopers from Kentucky State Police Post #4, were all involved in the search which resulted in the re-capture of jail escapee Elizabeth Ann Woosley, and the apprehension of 42-year-old Jake Wendell Embrey, both of Leitchfield. This took place shortly before 8 o’clock.
Officers first encountered the pair in a field behind a house at 12356 Owensboro Road in Caneyville, in the late afternoon. The two were sitting in a 1998 Ford F-150 belonging to Embrey’s estranged wife, Mary Ann King of Leitchfield. When confronted, Embrey and Woosley fled in the vehicle into a wooded area. Authorities gave chase and Embrey and Woosley eventually exited the vehicle and continued on foot.
As law enforcement searched the area, the pair emerged from the woods on Falls of Rough Road where a passer-by saw them and reported the sighting to police. The two were taken into custody a short time later after a foot chase through a soybean field.
The arrests bring to a close a three-day ordeal that began Saturday afternoon when Woosley forced her way past visitors leaving the Detention Center Female Facility and escaped.
Woosley, 22, has been charged with Escape in the 2nd Degree and is also being held on a probation violation for a felony offense. Embrey was on bond from a May, 2014 incident in which he was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He has been additionally charged with Hindering Prosecution or Apprehension.
The investigation is continuing and more charges may be pending.
