In a meeting led by County Attorney Clay Ratley, Magistrate Jason Dennis was unanimously chosen to serve, at most, the 28 days until Gov. Matt Bevin picks a permanent replacement who will serve out the remainder of Logsdon’s term, which ends on Dec. 31, 2018 – Bevin has 30 days from Monday to select a permanent replacement.

Magistrate Presto Gary nominated Dennis, with Magistrate Harold Johnson seconding the nomination.

Magistrate Bill Skaggs was not in attendance.

Dennis, in his 15th year as a Magistrate, said after being selected, “I appreciate you guys for putting the trust in me to handle the job for however long it may be. It really means a lot to me.”
