According to my figures, we are officially 27 DAYS AWAY FROM SPRING! We can finally begin to say goodbye to winter and the nasty, terrible, awful cold weather that it brings (I am not a Cold-Weather fan, if you can’t already tell). I love Spring and the amazing feeling that comes with it! All the sunshine and good vibes that come your way when you can finally change your calendar over to those glorious Spring Months. So, if you’re like me and dying for warmer weather, here are some activities to get your brain Spring-Centered and revved up for the glorious trio of March-April-May.

  1. Learn how to perfectly fly a kite– You have plenty of time to master the length of the string, wind direction, and fly time, so when Spring arrives you will be a pro!
  2. Start your garden prep– It takes a bit of work to get your garden back to its old self after all these cold temps, start gathering your summer seeds, getting your soil worked and ready, and make sure you have plenty of supplies to start planting!
  3. Slowly start packing away your winter clothes– This is my FAV part! Getting rid of all those heavy coats and sweaters and unpacking lighter and more colorful clothes. It’s like getting a new wardrobe all over again.
  4. Spend time outside in the mornings and afternoons– Soon, everything will start its major thaw and the birds will start singing their morning songs. To really get your mind springing forward, start and end your day embracing nature and watching as the seasons change.
  5. Attend craft fairs and festivals– As the weather changes, more events will be held outside, so get out there! You never know what kind of phenomenal collectibles you will find at your local Spring Bazaar or Farmer’s Market.
  6. Stock up on camping supplies– When I was a kid, we camped out every Spring and it was so fun and now I have so many memories to cherish because of it. Start a new family tradition by taking a family camping trip, and remember, collecting your gear is only half the fun!
  7. Make a bird feeder with the kiddos– The birds will be out and about and you can bet they will be hungry! Take an afternoon or a Saturday morning with the family to make a bird feeder and hang it outside to feed all your little friends. I’m sure it will be greatly appreciated!
  8. Start planning your Spring Cleaning routine– Now this may not be the most fun on the list, but it is inevitable, so you might as well tackle it with a smile. All the winter weather and colder temperatures have probably put some wear on your house, both inside and out. So, take some time to make a plan of what projects will need to be completed and when. It will make the process a little easier.
  9. Have a backyard picnic– You don’t have to go far to enjoy the return of Spring, just step outside and wha-la! Maybe plan lunch or an early dinner outside as the days warm up. It will be so much fun and clean-up is a breeze.
  10. Start researching and collecting Spring recipes– There are obvious Winter recipes, such as Chili and Pot Roast, but in the same way, there are Spring recipes too, such as fresh salads and strawberry pie. Take some time to visit your favorite recipe website and gather ones that embody that light and airy Spring feel. Plus, who doesn’t love watching those super cool cooking videos?

We are officially on the path to the best time of the year and I couldn’t be more excited! Do you have any specific Spring plans? How do you get ready for the new season? Share your comments with me below.

Until next time.
