Two people have been arrested and charged with murder after a body was discovered in a shallow grave in Elizabethtown.

According to police, Friday evening just before 6:00, authorities received a tip about a possible homicide at a residence in the 300 block of Ralph Franklin Lane, just off Ring Road.

At the residence, police made contact with two subjects, 43-year-old Rick Fisher, of Louisville, and 50-year-old Lisa Harvey, of Elizabethtown. Both Fisher and Harvey were interviewed by police and detained.

After authorities discovered freshly disturbed ground in the back yard of the residence, a cadaver dog was requested from Kentucky Bloodhound Search and Rescue to assist in the search, according to media reports. The dog alerted where the ground had been disturbed, with police removing a few inches of dirt and discovering a dead body.

Police have not released the name of the deceased.

Fisher and Harvey were arrested and charged with murder and lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on $500,000 bonds.

The investigation is ongoing.
