A Glasgow woman has been killed in a three-vehicle accident in Barren County.

Kentucky State Police responded to the crash at approximately 11:15 Sunday morning on Happy Valley Road, near the intersection of Harry King Road, about one mile north of Glasgow.

State police said its preliminary investigation indicated that 73-year-old Mary M. Johnson, of Glasgow, was driving a 2004 Buick LeSabre north on Happy Valley Road, while traveling in front of Johnson was 60-year-old Deborah Cundari, also of Glasgow, who was driving a 2012 Ford Focus.

As Cundari slowed to turn onto Harry King Road her vehicle was struck by the Buick, according to police. Johnson’s vehicle then entered oncoming traffic where it hit a southbound 2006 Humvee, being driven by 35-year-old Jeremy Staples, of Cub Run.

Johnson was transported to TJ Samson Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Cundari was also transported to TJ Samson Community Hospital where she was treated and released. Staples refused medical treatment.
