Grayson County Judge-Executive released a short video on Wednesday updating citizens on the new confirmed coronavirus (COVID-19) case in Grayson County.

As reported earlier Wednesday, Henderson said a 20-year-old man from Grayson County tested positive for the virus. Henderson said the victim has “very mild symptoms” and is quarantined at his home.

“Look folks, we knew this was going to happen; we’re going to have more positive cases, and we’re prepared to deal with it,” Henderson said. “ … It’s not gloom and doom, I’d like have went through this whole thing without having another positive, but we pretty well knew that was wishful thinking.”

The health department is currently contacting everyone who came in contact with the victim, Henderson noted.

The 20-year-old male makes the third confirmed COVID-19 case involving a Grayson County resident. The previous two positive cases, a 46-year-old woman and 19-year-old woman, are, at last report, quarantined at their homes.

Henderson reminded people that if you have to go out to please treat everyone as if they have the virus.

“If you go to Walmart, if you go to any convenience stores, treat the situation as if everybody that’s walked in the store has got COVID-19,” Henderson said. “Do your due diligence, and make sure that you watch what you’re doing, watch what you’re touching; you sanitize your hands, wash them, wipe off those gas pumps, do all of that you’ll be fine … And we should get through this.”

The judge said that many more COVID-19 tests have been administered in the county, and while he did not reveal those numbers during Wednesday’s update, Henderson said he would report the testing numbers Thursday during a noon press conference, which will be broadcast live on K105’s Facebook and YouTube pages, and on K105 and 103.9 The Moose.

Henderson said the COVID-19 victim who was diagnosed with the virus while a patient at Twin Lakes Regional Medical has been discharged from the hospital and is quarantined at their residence in their home county.
