The beach at Rough River Dam State Resort Park will be closed for the remainder of the summer.

“Due to multiple natural circumstances, the beach at Rough River Dam State Resort Park is going to be closed for the remainder of the 2021 season,” park officials said. “There are still numerous beaches around the lake for you to visit provided by the Corp of Engineers.”

Officials added that the pool at the lodge is open for lodging guests only.

Apparently, an unfounded rumor has been started stating that the beaches at North Fork and Laurel Branch are also closed for the season. This is not true.

“This information is FALSE,” officials said. “North Fork and Laurel Branch Beach are open for the season. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Rough River Dam State Resort Park are two separate entities.”

Anyone with questions is encouraged to contact the park at 270-257-2311.
