E-town convenience store armed robbery suspect nabbed at another convenience store a few hundred yards away

Police in Hardin County arrested an armed robbery suspect only hours after he robbed a Speedway convenience store.

Thursday morning at approximately 4:15, 35-year-old Nathanial E. Lucas, of Lake City, Florida, entered the Speedway at 1040 North Mulberry Street in Elizabethtown and pointed a handgun at the cashier while demanding money, according to a report by The News-Enterprise. He stole $201 and a carton of cigarettes and fled the scene.

Elizabethtown police located Lucas a short time later at a FiveStar convenience store only a few hundred yards from the Speedway.

He was arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and tampering with physical evidence.

Lucas was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.
