On Tuesday, the Hart County Sheriff’s Office received a tip that led to the seizure of a significant amount of methamphetamine, weapons, and marijuana plants.

After receiving the information and obtaining a search warrant, the Greater Hardin County Narcotics Task Force, Kentucky State Police and Hart County Sheriff’s Office arrived at a residence on Liberty Schoolhouse Road, about five miles south of Hardyville.

When police arrived they searched the residence and located a large amount of methamphetamine, precursors for manufacturing methamphetamine, marijuana plants, firearms, and stolen road signs.

Police arrested 60-year-old John W. Gardner, of Hardyville, and charged him with trafficking in a controlled substance (methamphetamine), manufacturing methamphetamine, unlawful possession of a methamphetamine precursor, receiving stolen property, cultivating marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

All the drug charges are enhanced by the presence of firearms.

Gardner was lodged in the Hart County Jail on a $100,000 cash bond.
