Salt truck driver hits ice, leaves Owensboro Rd.

A state highway department salt truck driver escaped serious injury after hitting a patch of ice and leaving Owensboro Road.

Saturday morning at approximately 11:00, Grayson County Deputy Sean Fentress, the Leitchfield Fire Department and EMS responded to the 5000 block of Owensboro Road and found a state highway department salt truck hit a patch of ice, spinning the vehicle 180 degrees and off the roadway.

The truck came to rest on an embankment.

The driver, suffering from scrapes and bruises, was transported to Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center.

Kentucky State Police assisted at the scene.
