A manhunt is underway for a Louisville man suspected of killing his wife and shooting his young son early Sunday morning.

Police are looking for Ronald Burdette, a white male who the Shively Police Department told media outlets is in his 50s and stands six feet tall. He weighs about 200 pounds.

Authorities said he may be driving a gray 2007 Ford Taurus with Kentucky license plate number BXK-166. The vehicle has damage to the rear passenger area and front doors.

Burdette is wanted for shooting and killing his wife and shooting his 12-year-old child at approximately 5:00 Sunday morning at a home in the 2100 block of Appleton Lane. The female victim had been shot several times. The injured child was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

Shively police said Burdette is “solely responsible” for the shooting.

Burdette, police said, should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information on Burdette’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Shively Police Department at 502-448-6181 or your local law enforcement.
