A Leitchfield woman has been killed in a car accident in Hardin County.
The Elizabethtown Police Department responded to the wreck Tuesday night at approximately 11:00 on Ring Road, near Kitty Hawk Drive, according to a report by The News-Enterprise.
Police told the newspaper that 28-year-old Destiny Shelton was traveling west on Ring Road in a 2002 Ford Focus when the vehicle entered the eastbound lanes and struck a 1998 Chevrolet SUV head-on.
Shelton was pronounced deceased at the scene. An unidentified male passenger in the Ford and the driver of the SUV were transported to University of Louisville Hospital with serious injuries.
The Elizabethtown PD’s accident reconstruction team is leading the investigation.
