Gas prices in West Central Kentucky are three cents lower this week at $3.30, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report.

Average prices of unleaded self-serve gasoline in various areas:

$3.32    Bowling Green
$3.13    Elizabethtown
$3.20   Owensboro

Two weeks ago, the lowest price for unleaded gasoline in Grayson County was $3.13 per gallon. As of early Wednesday morning, the lowest price for a gallon of unleaded in the county was $3.19.

AAA trend analysis

The national average for a gallon of gasoline slid three cents in the past week to $3.77, which is 13 cents lower than a month ago and 36 cents more than a year ago.

Although crude prices rose at the end of the week due to a weakening dollar, prices dropped earlier in the week after the Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported that total domestic commercial crude stocks increased by four million barrels. The inventory rise could mean that demand is falling due to growing economic concerns.
