A Marshall County man has been arrested on child pornography charges after police found child porn at locations in two Kentucky counties.

Kentucky State Police charged 58-year-old Monte L. Beasley, of Benton, with possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and tampering with physical evidence.

Police said the investigation began when U.S Forestry Service personnel discovered “various images of … child pornography near the eastern shore of Land Between the Lakes.”

Upon troopers arriving and “after several hours or searching, multiple images of child pornography, electronic devices, and other items were located,” police said.

KSP detectives then began investigating the origin of the items which led them to a residence in Benton, where police located and interviewed Beasley.

During their investigation, detectives learned that the Mayfield Police Department was investigating a similar incident in which images of child pornography were recently found in an abandoned residence where Beasley once resided. The residence, police said, suffered severe damage during the December 10, 2021, tornado.

Investigators with the Mayfield Police Department and Kentucky State Police continue to investigate that discovery and expect future charges against Beasley.
