Owensboro man killed when anydrous tank breaks loose, strikes his vehicle

An Owensboro man has been killed in an accident on the Green River Bridge in McLean County.

Kentucky State Police responded to the accident on the U.S. Hwy 431 Green River Bridge in Livermore and found that 33-year-old Blake Hamilton, of Utica, had been traveling south on the bridge in a 2021 Ford pickup truck with two anhydrous tanks in-tow.

Police said one of the tanks became unhooked and collided with a northbound 2019 Ford-250 truck, being driven by 64-year-old James A. Heifner, of Owensboro.

Heifner was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville where he was later pronounced deceased.

Hamilton was not injured.

The investigation is on-going.
