Judith Ann Hawks, 77, of Wingfield passed away on August 14, 2023 at the Edmonson Center in Brownsville.
Judy was born in Edmonson County on May 21, 1946 to Robert and Violet Cannon. She received salvation at the age of 13 at a little Baptist church near Shepherdsville, KY. She was married to H. G. Hawks for 57 years. Judy was a stay-at-home mom for much of her life and was a very private person. She loved her family and spent almost all of her time caring for them. Judy was very dedicated to her husband and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband, H. G. Hawks and her parents, Robert Cannon and Violet Elmore Cannon.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday at Gravil Funeral Home with burial to follow in Hawks Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM Wednesday.
Judy is survived by three children, Sharon Jenkins (John) of Bowling Green, Cindy Cooper (Denver) of Richmond and Troy Hawks (Suzanne) of Somerset; seven grandchildren, Heather, Whitney, Ashley, Sarah, Mike, Zach and Wes; eight great grandchildren; three brothers, Sherrill Cannon (Lavern), Bobby Cannon (Fay) and Glenn Cannon (Betty); her best friend Charline Thomas who she referred to as the sister she never had; and her care-giving extended family- the staff at Edmonson Center who she also loved.
