A Morgantown man arrested for absconding from parole on Tuesday has now been charged with multiple rapes of a child.
As K105 reported Wednesday morning, Kentucky State Police said troopers were contacted on Tuesday with an anonymous tip regarding potential criminal activity in a camper trailer on Hwy 815 in McLean County. Police arrived at the location and found 32-year-old Wesley M. Wright, of Morgantown. He was arrested on multiple warrants for failure to appear and probation violations for felony offenses.
On Wednesday, KSP said that, following an investigation, Wright was additionally charged with two counts of first-degree rape, victim younger than 12.
Wright is being held in the Daviess County Detention Center.
Wright absconded from parole after being convicted in Daviess County on seven felonies, including theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, felony wanton endangerment (twice), and fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), according to the Kentucky Department of Corrections.
KSP Det. Mason Hendricks is continuing his investigation.
