A northern Kentucky deputy has been arrested.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Office was recently contacted by the Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office requesting an investigation into Gallatin County Deputy Jason Walker.
The investigation was initiated when a female filed a complaint against Walker regarding the deputy contacting the woman “under the guise of following up on a domestic violence case he assisted with,” according to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office.
“Walking then continued contacting the female, transitioning the conversation to more personal, and ultimately romantic topics,” the sheriff’s office said.
When the woman asked Walker to cease contacting her, he began following her and watching her “at various locations around Gallatin County.”
“Walker,” the sheriff’s office said, “also utilized a law enforcement database to find additional personal identifying information about the female and let her know he had those, and other capabilities.”
The female eventually agreed to meet Walker at a gas station where he is accused of reaching inside her vehicle and touching her in a sexual manner.
On another occasion, the sheriff’s office said Walker responded to the female’s home in an official capacity where he “forcibly touched her in a sexual nature while she attempted to stop him …”
During both instances, Walker was on duty.
Walker attempted to hide his communications and interactions with the female by consistently deleting her from SnapChat and deleting her number from his call log. He also disabled his department issued vehicle’s GPS system to hide when he was stalking or otherwise meeting the female.”
Walker was arrested and charged with three counts of first-degree sexual abuse, third-degree sexual abuse, first-degree stalking, tampering with physical evidence, and first-degree official misconduct.
He’s being held in the Boone County Detention Center on a $100,000 cash bond.
