BG shooting suspect, considered armed and dangerous, captured in Louisville

On Tuesday, July 4, the Warren County Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting at 1300 Brookwood Drive, just west of the Bowling Green city limits.

The shooting investigation revealed that a large party was underway when 20-year-old Ryan Lambert, of Bowling Green, was shot. The suspect, 20-year-old Rudolph "Rudy" Rankins, also of Bowling Green, fled the scene on foot.

Lambert was transported to The Medical Center for treatment of his injuries and later released.
An arrest warrant was issued for Rankins, who was considered armed and dangerous.

Police said, on Monday, and through the diligence of Warren County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals Service, Rankins was located and arrested in Louisville.

His is lodged in Louisville Metro Corrections on a litany of Warren County warrants charging him with wanton endangerment, receiving stolen property (firearm), fleeing or evading police, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and assault.

He’s being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
