Tuesday night at 5:30, Kentucky State Police charged an inmate at the Ohio County Detention Center with complicity to escape for the inmate’s role in Arnold Ray McKenney’s escape from the facility on Sunday night.

Police said surveillance footage of the 48-year-old McKenney’s escape showed that 23 year-old Harley W. Roebke, of Hartford, served as a lookout while McKenney tampered with, opened and fled through a magnetic door.

Roebke is being held on multiple charges, including third degree rape, custodial interference and unlawful transaction with a minor (for an illegal sex act with the victim being under the age of 16), among other charges.

Police continue to search for McKenney, who is from the Cromwell area. Authorities consider him dangerous.

He was being detained after his April arrest for rape, sodomy, sexual abuse, with the victim being under the age of 12, and for being a persistent felony offender.

McKenney is described as being 5-4 to 5-6 and weighing 150 to 155 pounds; he has blue eyes and sandy blond hair. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and gray jogging pants.

Anyone with information on McKenney’s location is asked to contact Kentucky State Police at 270-826-3312.
